Al-Khair Foundation is a UK-based international development and humanitarian relief NGO working in some of the world’s most deprived areas. Established in 2003 our pioneering programmes across the world have led Al-Khair Foundation to become the third largest Muslim charity in the UK. Al-Khair Foundation also looks to tackle issues prevalent in the UK as well, such as unemployment, education, women’s empowerment and domestic violence.
Our vision is to create a world of harmony where people of all backgrounds are able to access healthcare, education and the means to earn a livelihood. Our primary mission is to save lives in emergencies and provide those in disaster zones with medical aid, food and shelter. We also aim to help the needy by adopting practical ways to root out poverty from the world through our relief and development programmes in South Asia, the Middle-East, East Africa and the United Kingdom.
Al-Khair works in countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe helping vulnerable communities, displaced families and refugees overcome their suffering during and after the occurrence of natural disaster and/or armed conflict. The scope of work covers all who are in need for humanitarian assistance regardless of their race, religion, nationality or political affiliation. While responding to global emergencies is a priority, we also work on long-term development programmes to ensure stability, resilience and sustainable development for the benefiting communities, mainly achieved through social inclusion into our education, training and livelihood programmes.
